Gladiator Sequel

It turns out that Ridley Scott thought about this once before in 2003 but couldn't really think of anything worth going forward with so the idea was dropped. Now it seems that both Scott and Russell Crowe are all for bringing Maximus back from the dead. We all remember that Maximus dies at the end of Gladiator by the tyrant Cesar of Rome with a poison tipped sword. We also assume he died because we see him with his family in the afterlife but I'm going to assume that Ridley Scott will say he was going through dilirium from the poison in his system. Hey...if they brought back Spock I don't see why this couldn't fly.

I don't know, that' seems dumb. I mean what is his purpose for coming back? Why wouldn't he just stay with his family? Who's he going to fight now?

I guess I'll just have to see about this, but I'm leaning towards carrpy sequel right now.

I think that if this is done right, this could be really good!

Yeah, it did to me too, Pinky. The movie just felt like a one time deal to me. Sure, Ridley Scott is a good director in his own right but I wonder why go back to it and risk ruining it with a crappy sequel instead of going with original new material. Of course, it's going to be a wait and see game.

Mindtwister: Yeah, anything if done right could be really good but Hollywood doesn't have that good of a track record in the sequel department. There are a few but not many

I don't like the idea either. The movie had a good ending to it so why are they going to mess it up with some cheezy idea?

Kinda like "Highlander!" An awesome movie with the crappiest sequels in the history of the cinema.

Dude! you are completely right about the Highlander. Man the sequels sucked!!

I guess it will just be a wait and see on this one. I just hope I'm not mad I spent the money when I see what I waited for.

Although I do agree with you on Highlander 2: The Quickening being a crappy sequel, I'm going to have to disagree with you on parts 3 and 4. I loved part 3 and thought part 4 was a good meeting of both worlds between Connor and Duncan with a sad conclusion. As far as Highlander 2, I just pretend that it doesn't exist and think of part 3 as part 2.

Okay, okay. So the last Highlander was really good. I did like the way they pulled it all together. And you're right, 2, never existed.
