To Be Horribly Unclear

I'm here to rant and rave about every day life as well as asking some questions and getting some answers.

New Language

Something I've been wanting to do for quite some time now is learn a new language. This decision came to be while I was working at Border's Bookstore. Many books offering to teach a variety of languages. Which to choose, I wonder. Russian, Japanese, Celtic??, etc. etc. Well, I got to know a fellow employee rather well because she was the only other person I knew around my age, younger than me actually, that had a child. Found out she spoke Italian rather well and fell in love with the language. I wonder if knowing Spanish gives me an edge since there are similarities between the two. I had some books that I bought, Learning Italian for Beginners, and got lazy and never actually bothered to pick it up but, and I hate to sound all new age or zen like, I figured with how clear headed I've been lately and I'm on the path to be freed from this hell hole otherwise known as the in-laws house and living a life without making the same vicious cycle mistakes I've been making all these years, might as well learn something new. I also thought it would be cool to learn a new language no other person I know knows. I am having a little trouble figuring out how to go about doing this alone...no teacher to guide and take notes from. Haven't done the "School" thing in a few years. Any suggestions? Well, wish me luck.

Oh, sorry for no updating what I've been up to lately and how goes married life....I have tomorrow off too so I'll probably take the time to do that tomorrow.

Italian is rather easy to learn, and I would say that you knowing Spanish is going to help. The languages are similar. The only thing I know really well is an Italian Aria. Comes from my opera singing days.

Thanks for the updates!

As far as learning a new language goes, When I was trying to learn Japanese, I tried to use the words I would learn in my everyday life...kinda just to remind myself they were there, and it would also let me know I knew what the word was and what it meant. Good luck!
