To Be Horribly Unclear

I'm here to rant and rave about every day life as well as asking some questions and getting some answers.

New Job!!!

A little over 4 months ago I was let go of what I thought was a very stable job. Little did I know that the economy was crumbling down and affecting everyone, including me. Many people are having worse times than I am so I obviously feel very lucky and greatful that I was finally able to find a job and a good one at that. I have gone back to retail. People will say that maybe it wasn't such a bright move to go back to retail but amazingly enough that despite the economic problems our country is going through, I found the one job that I don't think will have any problems. Video games!! People can barely afford to buy gas to get to work and yet people are buying video games, video game systems and video game accessories like someone stocking up before a hurricane. It's in a very busy mall that fortunately is very close to an airport and many hotels so the majority of the traffic that comes in are tourists. South American tourists to be precise. So they want to bring back all the new technological wonders we have to offer that may not be available to them there like the newest blackberry or even a Nintendo Wii.

On another note all is well on the family front. My beautiful and pregnant wife still gets the shaft from her family on occasion and it's horrible to watch it happen and not be able to do anything about it other than comfort her and let her know that I'M always going to be there for her no matter what. It sucks to watch her mother show obvious favoritism towards her oldest from another marriage over her first born to her second and still going marriage. What's worse is that she doesn't even see that she's doing it even when told that she is. I guess ignorance is bliss.

Sorry, went off subject again. My son is doing good. I'm trying to savor these moments before he's born and plan to continue to do so this time around as I didn't do it so well with my first born. I still haven't been able to scan some of the sonogram pictures but I will. Just trying to get settled in my job and used to being on my feet all day again.

New Movies Update!!

Hello all. Since I am very attached to the world of hollywood, always following every bit of news on any upcoming movie that's coming out, I figured there are a lot of movie fans, like myself, out there that maybe isn't up to speed with hollywood. So I decided to post any and all info here. Let's get started:

Austin Powers 4: As I understand, I have not seen it, The Love Guru was not well received and I have read that Mike Myers is going back to this franchise to possible revive his career, even if a little bit.

I am a huge fan of the Austin Powers series but this may be pushing it. I have mixed feelings about it because the series was pretty much at the end of what I call the "pop culture" era. In my opinion, whatever pop culture we have going on now is...for lack of a better word, crap. To risk doing a 4th sequel risks damaging this franchise. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

There is not much info on movie plot other than it'll be in the perspective of Dr. Evil and his son Scott played by Seth Green and their relationship.

Terminator : Salvation: Now that is one bad ass looking Terminator. This is a franchise I'm happy to say can be brought back again because of the space between each movie so it seems fresh.

It seems that Christian Bale is working on all 4 cylinders since he's managed to always be in a movie every few months or so whether it's a blockbuster hit like The Dark Knight or in a much smaller role like the Machinist (great movie to rent by the way). He will be playing the pivotal role of John Conner, leader of the human resistance in the post apocalyptic world we've been longing to see.

I have not been able to find out if Arnold Schwarzenegger will be making any kind of cameos but they did however recruit Roland Kickinger, a fellow austrian playing a T-800 Terminator. Roland Kickinger has played the Governor himself in the Biographical/comdey/dramatic story that splits between when Arnold was training for the Mr. Olympic '74 and when he decided to run for Governor in '03. Roland is very much built like Arnold during his bodybuilding days and does a pretty decent job acting like Arnie but it remains to be seen whether he's pretending to be Arnie pretending to be the Terminator.

My only concern is that the movie is stated to be PG-13 which in my opinion may limit the movie a bit but after seeing The Dark Knight, I may be wrong. Terminator: Salvation in theaters May 2009.

Evil Dead 4: This idea has been thrown around for a while for years now but it seems that the almighty Sam Raimi who directed the entire Spider-Man series is finally going to bring cult phenomenon the Evil Dead back to the screen.

It is currently unclear whether it will be a remake of the original or if it will be a sequel starring Bruce Campbell.

Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: A lot of people did not fare this movie well and I don't understand why. Sure, Jason Lee's character had moments where he seems to be acting like the original Dave from the animated cartoons of the 80's making him sound a bit cheesy and out of place but that added to the nostalgia.

It seems that it's been confirmed that the sequel is already in the works.

Harold and Kumar 3: Apparently this was always planned to be a trilogy joining other great trilogies like Lord of the Rings, Spider-Man and the Matrix. Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay was just released this past Tuesday and I must say it was a great continuation of the ethnic stoners. It's a bit more raunchy from the original and obviously not recommended to be watch when children are in the house.

The Hobbit: It's been confirmed that Sir Ian McKellen will be reprising his role as Gandalf the Grey for the long awaited The Hobbit. No other word on who will be signing up for the movie, only rumored that Andy Serkis will be reprising the role of Gollum. Unfortunately, Peter Jackson will not be directing it but just producing it with Guillermo Del Toro at the helm. According to imdb.com the movie is stated to come out in December 2011.

I will take a break for now as there are tons of movies I want to tell you about. Let me know what you think.

P.S. Is everyone going to watch and re-watch the Dark Knight?? COME ON!! Let's help it beat the Titanic as the highest grossing film of all time.

walking around; Osama Bin Laden too, but they take the ONE woman in America
willing to cook, clean, and work in the yard, and they haul her fanny off to
jail.'

The Dark Knight

My God this movie was just SICK!! It was great!! It was everything I was expecting and more. The movie has passed the $300,000,000 mark in just two weeks. There are a lot of people hoping to see this movie surpass Titanic as the highest grossing movie of all time and I am one of those. I'm not trying to take anything away from Titanic but it is a bit unfair that the movie should get the title as it was put back in theaters a few months after it was taken off. So let's help it get pass this goal, people!! I know there are those out there, like me, that can see this movie again and again. Actually, how about this. For those that see it again and again, come to my blog and say you did. I'd like to see how many people read this blog and actually go between now and the time the movie is removed. LET'S DO IT!!!

I'm going to warn some of you parents about taking your kids to see this. It's a more dark, intense and brooding story as the name suggests, than Batman Begins.

Heath Ledger's performance was exemplary. While some may think that his psychotic actions and behavior are simplistic in nature, you can see it's more complex if you think about it. The movie does not go into the Joker's past and how he came to be. This makes me wonder what drives him and since no explanation is given...it's actually scary. The very story of how he got his "smiley" scars is elusive as he gives different variations of it. While the Joker is on screen, you can feel the awesome yet disturbing mind at work and can't help but think that he has everything he does in the movie planned out from the get go and if anything is improvised it's done so at the drop of the hat without thinking or hesitation. I am saddened when thinking how will they bring the joker back? I'm hoping there is a star out there with untapped talent to be able to bring the same animosity that Heath Ledger brought to the table because that is what Hollywood is going to need. Anything less will be an insult to all fans and should think twice about making the next Batman sequel.

You'll notice that Bruce Wayne is not the center of attention in the movie. You will see the story revolving around Harvy Dent, played by Aaron Eckhart, and his journey to being "the White Knight" of Gotham as well as his relationship with Rachel Dawes played by Maggie Gyllenhaal (my only complaint of the movie). You will see some of the old familiar faces from Batman Begins like Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy, while seeing some new ones like Anthony Michael Hall of 80's movies fame like Breakfast Club and Weird Science, Eric Roberts, Nestor Carbonell amongst a few others.

This is definitely a story about someone trying to fight the forces of evil while still being viewed as a Vigilante and as something wrong....not because he wants to....but because it's the right thing to do.

P.S. How about that pencil trick, huh?

R.I.P. Heath Ledger

heath ledger

I know it's been a few months since his death but I was never able to blog about it.

When I first heard the tragic news both me and my wife were in the gym inside Carnival's Corporate Office and it literally took the wind out of me. I was in disbelief as I heard the words come out of my wife's mouth. What's sad is that he was just getting started and now we'll never see how great an actor he would have become.

I first saw the rising star in 10 Things I Hate About You and have followed his work ever since. It is very sad especially with the kids he leaves behind. I am looking forward to seeing his final full transformation he did for movie in The Dark Knight as the infamous Joker. I will review the movie once I see it for all you Heath Ledger fans.

Top 5 Women I'd Hook Up With...

I was inspired to do this after an episode of Friends. If you're a fan of the show I'm sure you remember this.

1.) Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba. First movie/show seen in: Idle Hands.

2.) Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie. First movie/show seen in: Hackers.

3.) Rachel Weisz

Rachel Weisz. First movie/show seen in: The Mummy.

4.) Photobucket

Jessica Beil: First movie/show seen in: 7th Heaven

5.) Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman: First movie/show seen in: The Professional

So who are your Top 5 Women or Men You'd Hook Up With?

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!

Damn Carnival and their high turn over. Unfortunately, much to my dismay, my family and I are being forced back into my in-laws. Reason being since Carnival laid me off and the economy being what it currently is, I have been unable to procure employment. So rather than borrow money to pay this month's rent we have decided to move back into my wife's parent's home for the time being. Our plan is to save money for a few months, probably for the remainder of my wife's pregnancy and then look into getting a loan and getting our own place. The only thing that I look forward to in my in-laws house is internet and cable tv which I have been without for quite a while. Gotta have my Gene Simmon's Family Jewels.

Other than that, it's all good. Things still look good with Regal Movie Theaters and the manager position I applied for. I'm just waiting for the background and reference check to be done and the General Manager said I should be starting this Friday since it's the beginning of the pay term.

Oh, almost forgot. I wanted to put a clip of one of my favorite skits of George Carlin so here you go.

R.I.P. George Carlin

George Carlin

Almost forgot about this.

I was saddened to hear that beloved comic George Carlin passed away. I'm not into too many comics to begin with but have been hooked to his material ever since. I was going to put a clip of one of his shows but the network here in the Disney resort blocked out youtube.com. I'll put one up once we're back in Miami.

Hello from Disney's Vero Beach resort!!!

SIgn

In light of my current job situation I was thinking about not going but since all we were going to do is spend time in the sun and soak in the pool...I thought "What the hell?" I worked pretty damn hard and put up with a lot while working at Carnival.

My wife's parents invited us to tag along to their hotel in Walt Disney World for the first 3 days and then we switched to Disney's Vero Beach resort in Vero Beach, of course. Nice quiet little town. Not a whole lot to do but sit back and relax. We might go and see Wall-E this Friday. I'll give you the scoop if we do.

I got a pretty nasty sun burn all over my face, shoulders and upper back. Not pleasant when I try to switch positions in the middle of the night.

A bit of good news for me I thought I'd share. I went to apply at a Regal Movie Theater near my home but they don't get a lot of business so the General Manager referred me to another location of theirs and advised that he knows for sure they're in need of Associate Managers and associates as well. He gave me is email and told me to send him my resume and I just checked my email and received one from the other GM saying he wants to meet me for the Associate Manager position. Cross your fingers everyone and say a little prayer for me. I'll keep you updated.

When it rains, it pours

I was just feeling a bit blue about a lot of things and I heard this song today and thought I'd share it with you guys. I could relate to the lyrics. I'll be back later to let you know about my day yesterday...which sucked by the way.

Hey, man Im alive Im takin each day and night at a time
Im feelin like a monday but someday Ill be saturday night

Hey, my name is jim, where did I go wrong
My lifes a bargain basement, all the good shits gone
I just cant hold a job, where do I belong
Im sleeping in my car, my dreams move on

My name is billy jean, my love was bought and sold
Im only sixteen, I feel a hundred years old
My foster daddy went, took my innocence away
The street life aint much better, but at least I get paid

And tuesday just might go my way
It cant get worse than yesterday
Thursdays, fridays aint been kind
But somehow Ill survive

Hey man Im alive Im takin each day and night at a time
Yeah Im down, but I know Ill get by
Hey hey hey hey, man gotta live my life
Like I aint got nothin but this roll of the dice
Im feelin like a monday, but someday Ill be saturday night

Now I cant say my name, and tell you where I am
I want to roll myself away, dont know if I can

I wish that I could be in some other time and place
With someone elses soul, someone elses face

Oh, tuesday just might go my way
It cant get worse than yesterday
Thursdays, fridays aint been kind
But somehow Ill survive

Hey, man Im alive Im takin each day and night at a time
Yeah Im down, but I know Ill get by
Hey hey hey hey, man gotta live my life
Im gonna pick up all the pieces and whats left of my pride
Im feelin like a monday, but someday Ill be saturday night

Saturday night here we go
Some day Ill be saturday night
Ill be back on my feet, Ill be doin alright
It may not be tomorrow baby, thats ok
I aint goin down, gonna find a way, hey hey hey

Hey man Im alive Im takin each day and night at a time
Yeah, Im down, but I know Ill get by
Hey hey hey hey, man, gotta live my life
Like I aint got nothin but this roll of the dice
Im feelin like a monday, but someday Ill be saturday night
Im feelin like a monday, but someday Ill be saturday night
Saturday night __________,all right, all right
Saturday night
